I think "darkness," to her, is more of a metaphor for general strife. But who knows; maybe this time will be different.

It depends on every world. We've been in deserts, underneath the ocean, on robotic super-planets, and on dead spaceships. It's been a mixed bag, every single time, and each world has been radically different. We're not entirely sure where we're going next, aside from what Maes has figured out.
