[Well, this is happening. He's pretty ticked off about it, but he's accepted the situation. Which means the next step is to find any allies he might have around here and gather information. Unfortunately...he's assuming this network is monitored by Astoria, so he can't exactly speak freely.]

[ Ah. Right. Straight and to the point, then. He's more of the shoot-the-breeze type himself, but he also gets that that isn't why this guy came out here. And if Prompto's information can prove to be useful, then he's more than happy to offer it up.

So, hands in his pockets, he starts to talk. ]

About...six months now, I guess. Heh, can't believe it's been that long already! We've had some goooood times, the Circle... [ ...Oh, right. Course-correcting! ] I-I mean. Yeah. About half a year for those of us who've been here longest.

[Good...times....one eyebrow goes up. Skeptical doesn't even begin to cover the weight of Aizawa's expression here but it is the closest approximation nonetheless.

What he thinks is "kidnapping is your idea of a good time?" But he wisely holds that back. Instead:]

You sound like you trust her. Astoria. Why?

[ It's not the first time someone has questioned this, and honestly, if he had called it kidnapping Prompto would have taken it in stride. Mostly. He knows how it looks. A lot of his friends have the same misgivings, and he doesn't think they're wrong to. He just...

Well, he's always kinda had a peculiar outlook on things. ]

I dunno if I'd say I trust her, like, a hundred percent? But...I think she means well. Like, she really believes in what the Circle is doing.

[ And the things she isn't telling them she just doesn't seem to know. Which...isn't exactly reassuring either, but it helps him trust her. ]

[Honestly, he can't really believe that. It's not in his nature just to trust blindly, even when there aren't plenty of reasons for suspicion.]

What gives you that impression?

[Maybe Astoria's done something to win the Circle's loyalty, but he can't overlook the kidnapping, or the replacement of their powers. It seems like an instrument to control them, the way All For One did with his minions.]

[ His expression wilts a little, like he isn't sure if Aizawa will like what he says next, but he goes on anyway with: ]

It's just kind of a...gut feeling. I mean — we saved a world from going freakin' extinct the last place we were. If Astoria's so bad, why would she have us do something like that?

[ Though his opinion of her was formed long before Struxta. It...doesn't hurt that she's also pretty cute, too. ]

I'm not out to deny any good you might've done.

[Really, that's incidental to him. As long as he's trapped here, he'll help out as he can, because that's his duty as a hero. But.]

Things aren't typically so simple, though. If she was merely seeking assistance, why were we brought against our will? Why strip us of our usual abilities? Why involve children?

[It's that last one that sticks in his throat the most. Adults are one thing, but kids? Of his two students here, only one of them has even gotten a provisional license yet; they're still in training, still learning how to do what's necessary to protect people without getting themselves killed. They're not ready for anything like the burden of entire worlds.]

[ ...Something about that strikes a chord with Prompto, and he drops his gaze down, insecurity flickering over his face as he susses out an answer. Really, he...doesn't know what he can say to that. He doesn't like the idea of there being kids with them either, considering how dangerous some of their missions have been. Why would Astoria bring them along?

So, shuffling his feet, he moves onto something else, packing that away to be dealt with...sometime. Later. ]

U-uhhh...at least, with the abilities...I don't think that's entirely on her. There's somethin'...weird about this world. [ He gestures vaguely to the temple around them. ] Not that long ago, our regular powers were workin' for awhile. It happened around when we found the lake, and there were big pumpkins? Yeah.

[ Those things are connected, he swears. ]
