Where I'm from, technology hasn't even come close to being able to replicate independent thought and artificial life. But it seems there are examples here of people from a time where such a thing is possible.

I would consider myself very lucky to be able to see such an advancement.

Not really. An uprising or a revolution is a natural reaction to the oppression of a minority, robotic or otherwise. If an uprising happens like in all the sci fi stories, humanity probably deserved it.

Humanity is as predictable as it is surprising.

Personally, dying was the best thing I ever did for myself. People just say that because they're scared of what happens when you do.

Regrettably, no, in regards to dead AIs. I'm not sure what would happen to them in my world's little afterlife. That brings up all sorts of questions about souls and personhood that we haven't had to deal with yet. [Unfortunate, because he'd love to see an AI somehow show up in a Game.]
