So.

[ it is a public message, to the network, that pops up on the circle's watches and roy looks Less Than Pleased (tm) with the sudden state of affairs. the weather in the temple is absolutely out of control, there are apparently weird cakes appearing in the kitchens, and the fighting ring has turned into a magical court. great.

so, that may be the reason why roy's tone is particularly clipped, or even frustrated. but he seems methodical, in his words, and he is sitting at a table with a notebook, a glass of water, and a weird looking lizard on the table that has an odd rainbow-shift to the scales.

( ignore the lizard. it seems roy is. ) ]

The Circle is currently compromised of people of a variety of talents; soldiers, magicians, teenagers . . . all of us have particular skills to contribute to the cause of whatever it is we're meant to do here. I know quite a few people [ like maes, and barabas ] have been keeping track of various magical powers that we have been gifted, and organized some semblance of structure -- all of which is necessary. But we have to acknowledge what happened to Akvos.

[ he pauses, there. ]

Astoria has not been entirely clear with the Circle on what our purpose is. That may be an innocent error, or a purposeful move to win our trust. I'm not here to argue the merits of whether or not we should trust her, but we have no choice but to participate in whatever world she sends us to. Whether we like it or not, we are stuck there until she brings us back, and we have some opportunity to assist whoever is there. We cannot depend on her to figure out what to do in order to prevent another Akvos, or -- it seems, another El Minha, given King Kathashun is no longer in his own world.

[ roy taps the pen against the table once. ]

I don't have any solution as to what we did right, or wrong, or whether or not it was our fault in the first place. But I want to begin the conversation to work to prevent it again, and seeing as Astoria is either not willing or not capable of explaining herself at the moment, we need to learn to work without her. What are we missing? What do we need to work on? And what can we do in order to be more organized before our next world?

[ and, finally, roy feeds the lizard one (1) piece of lettuce, which it lazily seems to chew on. ]

I'm of a mind we need to organize fighters, healers, and transporters, but I'm open to ideas and suggestions -- and questions, about previous worlds to those who were not there to experience them. I have been to El Minha, Struxta, and Akvos. And I'm certain "older" members of the Circle will be happy to share their experiences, too.

It is. It hasn't changed since the last time I was drafting a report in there. Speaking of that it would do some good to recount what we can of what happened in Akvos. The more accounts we have the more we could possibly figure out what happened.

Hm, I see.

[Well, that needs to be fixed. Especially with the magical knowledge they poked and prodded there.]

Perhaps when I am done with this new project... [Aaand now she's muttering to herself. Oops.]

When we both have a moment I need to tell you about what happened when I reached for Astoria in the void. [He seems to come to a decision and adds,]

Very well. [Morrigan sighs.] My door is almost always open. When you do have some spare time, make like your man and follow the smoke.

[The funny thing is, she isn't kidding. She gestures at the equipment along the table. Yep. She's slowly turning the room she claimed into a makeshift herbalist lab.]

[He blinks, a puzzled expression crossing his face. Then comprehension dawns and he looks away with a quiet laugh.]

Glad you two met face to face. ...With the weather fluxing and even if it wasn't, we could build a greenhouse to protect any growing plants you need for your work.

[three, two, one... Ahh, there's the recognition. She shrugs slightly.]

Twice, if you want to include the void. [A beat. Huh.] That could work. Provided one could come up with the materials necessary.

I'll add that to the growing list of supplies to look for when we're sent to yet another world. I think it's doable. It would go even faster if some among us have shaping magic.

We could lower bigger pieces into place once I finish testing this cargo/supply harness.

[That earns a raised eyebrow.]

Indeed. Hopefully wherever we end up will have something.

[Dont' ask about the harness don't ask about the harness. Don't be Zevran and make jokes about it-]

[He raises an eyebrow right back at her.]

[She sinks enough teenage incredulousness into the word as possible, having been too tired to comment on the one she'd seen while in Akvos.]

Really? [She's almost insulted on his behalf.]

Yes, a harness. [He sinks enough calm into his words to sound like the wise adult of way more years than he actually has.]

I've set it up as a series of nets to secure whatever I'm carrying and keep the weight evenly balanced. [He's a pilot through and through.]

Got a better idea?

[Just this face for a few moments, Shiro.]

...With your paws? No.

[He holds up both his hands and turns his arms into the arms of the black lion. He flexes his paws. They're tipped with wicked blade-like claws and could dig into metal or something thick. But, they're not built for carefully holding anything.]

[Well, that's one way to prove her point. But now she is curious if she could do similar and it shows in her eyes. She looks down at her right hand and, very briefly, her nails turn into talons. Huh. What do you know. That's new.]

Looks like you can shift just a part of you too. [He grins and releases the change on his arms. His shoulder twinges and stretches one then the other. The drain on him to shift just part of himself is far less but the weight has to be accounted for.]

I wonder if that is a general skill available to us?

'Tis a mystery for the ages, though rather... difficult to maintain.

[Is it because of how many she has? Pah. She hates admitting this much as it is.]

It is. It takes a lot of practice to hold it. I can only do it for a few minutes.

[The weight is a factor but it's the magic itself. His body wants to be in one shape or another.]

[Well. Good to know. She frowns for a moment, looking outside her room. Well, it stopped for a moment, so... she sighs.]

Another time. I should scout locations before the next freak cold snap.

Let me know when. I'm going to scout outside. [He nods. They have things to do and sitting here isn't getting them down. His body reshapes itself into his other shape and he rumbles low in his chest.]
