So.

[ it is a public message, to the network, that pops up on the circle's watches and roy looks Less Than Pleased (tm) with the sudden state of affairs. the weather in the temple is absolutely out of control, there are apparently weird cakes appearing in the kitchens, and the fighting ring has turned into a magical court. great.

so, that may be the reason why roy's tone is particularly clipped, or even frustrated. but he seems methodical, in his words, and he is sitting at a table with a notebook, a glass of water, and a weird looking lizard on the table that has an odd rainbow-shift to the scales.

( ignore the lizard. it seems roy is. ) ]

The Circle is currently compromised of people of a variety of talents; soldiers, magicians, teenagers . . . all of us have particular skills to contribute to the cause of whatever it is we're meant to do here. I know quite a few people [ like maes, and barabas ] have been keeping track of various magical powers that we have been gifted, and organized some semblance of structure -- all of which is necessary. But we have to acknowledge what happened to Akvos.

[ he pauses, there. ]

Astoria has not been entirely clear with the Circle on what our purpose is. That may be an innocent error, or a purposeful move to win our trust. I'm not here to argue the merits of whether or not we should trust her, but we have no choice but to participate in whatever world she sends us to. Whether we like it or not, we are stuck there until she brings us back, and we have some opportunity to assist whoever is there. We cannot depend on her to figure out what to do in order to prevent another Akvos, or -- it seems, another El Minha, given King Kathashun is no longer in his own world.

[ roy taps the pen against the table once. ]

I don't have any solution as to what we did right, or wrong, or whether or not it was our fault in the first place. But I want to begin the conversation to work to prevent it again, and seeing as Astoria is either not willing or not capable of explaining herself at the moment, we need to learn to work without her. What are we missing? What do we need to work on? And what can we do in order to be more organized before our next world?

[ and, finally, roy feeds the lizard one (1) piece of lettuce, which it lazily seems to chew on. ]

I'm of a mind we need to organize fighters, healers, and transporters, but I'm open to ideas and suggestions -- and questions, about previous worlds to those who were not there to experience them. I have been to El Minha, Struxta, and Akvos. And I'm certain "older" members of the Circle will be happy to share their experiences, too.

( filtered to maes + riza )

[ almost immediately, his expression turns from serious and leaderlike to tired. ]

Who wants to keep notes?

[ PLEASE DON'T MAKE HIM DO IT :( ]

( end filter )

( ooc: please feel free to threadjack in this post! especially if you want to use this to foster CR and/or build "teams" that roy is looking to enlist. c: )

So, a mecha? I've heard other pilots talk about them. We have had a few of those back home but they require specific circumstances and sometimes more than one pilot to operate. [He'd heard the word tossed around by other pilots before. It's still unfamiliar to him but, it was a common word across several realities.]

A crash course is something that could be built upon. If we get the means, would you want to further your training?

I've never heard it called that before. The pilots I knew called the human form "Battroid." [But sure, why not?

There's a bit of a pause before she continues.]
If we ever get the chance, sure. I'm just not sure where exactly we're going to find a working sim in the middle of the woods.
spaceforged: (I need another route)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2019-02-07 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
On other worlds, [He corrects, but gently.] Of we can find the sim on another world I’ll see about training you further. I was taught most craft as a cadet and picked up others.

We’ll see what areas you do best in. But, other than piloting what do you want to learn and be able to do? We have a number of skills and abilities among all of us within the circle.

I'm so sorry I somehow missed this tag in the notifs!

[personal profile] fairysong 2019-02-27 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Right, she's just being a little needlessly pedantic because she's stressed, Shiro. Sorry.] If we come across one, then.

I don't really know how to fight much. I've shot a gun a few times in basic training, but that's it. [And, again. Crash course.] I'm an artist, you know?

But I'd rather not be a load around anyone's neck, either.

No problem!

[personal profile] spaceforged 2019-02-27 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[So basically a cadet. But if one is willing to learn? That makes a lot of difference.]

Right now we don’t have a firing range or guns to practice with. But, we can teach you other weapons and give you at least a basic course in hand to hand and first aid.

[The later at least isn’t fighting anyone and is useful.] Do you know off the top of your head the type of gun you were firing?
fairysong: (26)

[personal profile] fairysong 2019-03-01 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
It was, um. A pistol?

[Nope.]

First aid wouldn't be a bad idea, though.
spaceforged: seriously I'll just go totally crazy (Yeah we're working on it)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2019-03-02 10:56 am (UTC)(link)
We’ll work with whatever we find, then. Anyway, if we’re lucky and get a decent world next time. We can replace enough medical supplies to get you started on learning.

If we do, we can use the dummies in the arena for practice. [colliseum...arena same difference.]
fairysong: (97)

[personal profile] fairysong 2019-03-03 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I guess there's not much use for that without any first aid supplies-- no medicine, no disinfectant, no bandages or anything like that.

There are people here who can do all sorts of magical healing too, aren't there?
spaceforged: (More talking)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2019-03-06 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
There are a few. It’s better not to rely on magical healing. We have no idea what situations we will end up in. It’s better to have training and not need it. Then to be caught when you need it and not have the skill.

I can still teach you the basics with just bandages. But I’m running low. I couldn’t restock in Struxta or Akvos.

[personal profile] fairysong 2019-03-11 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Right, I suppose gauze and deep-sea adventures don't mix well. [There's a pause, but she sounds pretty sure of herself when she answers.] Don't waste your supplies on teaching me. We should save those for a real emergency, right?
spaceforged: (pic#12502191)

[personal profile] spaceforged 2019-03-12 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Alright, [His voice is confident in reply. This is a skill he feels everyone should have.] but if you find supplies and we're in a downtime. Contact me. We'll get started.
fairysong: (33)

[personal profile] fairysong 2019-03-13 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
I will. [Again, she pauses, trying to decide what to say next. She settles on a pretty simple:] Thanks for the offer.

[And then she did just that?]
