Hello, everyone. My name is Julius.

[ he gestures to the greenery behind him with a sweep of his hand, a slight smile tugging at his lips ]

I'm interested in developing the garden - we may need to upkeep it ourselves in the future, and I would imagine the relevant skills would be necessary in other worlds for ensuring a consistent food supply. However, I don't have much knowledge on cultivation myself. If we work together, we'll have a better chance at succeeding.

[ his expression settles back into its usual quiet seriousness now, as appropriate for something more dangerous ]

I was a soldier back home, and I used to teach drills to my teammates. In the interest of keeping our skills sharp, I would also like to propose some sparring sessions and other exercises.

[ a pause, before: ]

Drills might not be a bad idea. I don't want to be totally helpless if we do end up in some sort of dangerous spot.

I used to practice martial arts. So lots of hand-to-hand stuff.

I see. I used to train mostly with swords, so I'm not sure if I'm fully qualified to instruct on hand-to-hand. But, I can be a training partner, at least?

[ it helps (?) in this instance that whatever seal astoria placed on him also serves to seal part of his strength, so he can be sure he won't knock kou over by accident. ]

Training is training, you know? It's not all about having the same weapon or whatever, but also about the diligence and discipline of participating in something demanding and organized.

You're right. Maybe I should be less focused on the fine details. [ a nod. ] I've been looking for some sort of clearing where we can practice. We could meet up there after I've got a list sorted.
