[ On the video feed today, a tired looking young man appears in the lounge. Miyuki has been going through notebook after notebook, and he's been up again trying to determine what the hell he could be doing. He's finally decided on turning on the watch. ]

Good afternoon. This is Miyuki Shirogane-- apologies if I've been a bit quiet lately. I've been spending a lot of time in the lounge attempting to get my bearings. I've... well, never been in space, and I wanted some time just to take it all in, I guess.

[ It was hard to deny that he had been spending an absurd amount of time stargazing. His childlike dreams come first! ]

That being said, I figured... there may be others who may not know what's been going on so well, so I was wondering if we could consolidate our information. I don't know if that's something we'd want to do through the video feed, or meet up somewhere to do so, but I figured I would put the idea on the table. I'm willing to take notes down, if necessary.

[ A pause. ] I figure as well, it may be good to... check on whether or not there's anyone who may be missing. If there's someone out there that hasn't been accounted for in a while.

I agree we need to come together and talk about all we’ve found. Here might be best but writing down what everyone has to say would be a good reminder and update those who didn’t tune in. If we go for that route.

[He pauses for a moment, adding.] To find out who is missing we can check the list we had before against the present contact list. But, no matter what we do. It would be a good idea to find out how many of us talked to Violet and what she said. Whether believable or not, it’s what we know so far.

I spoke with Violet.

[She's brief and to the point for the moment.]

I did too. She had a lot to say on the subject of what happened and a few disturbing implications came up.

Disturbing as in a creature larger than this ship who may or may not have the ability to drive people to madness?

[She's hoping that's the worst of it, but. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.]

As in those doors marked exit might be its means of feeding on is to get stronger. So stay away from those doors.

It is also possible the creature isn’t gone. [Because bad news comes in threes.]

How delightful.

[Exactly what she wants to hear when she's still getting used to new powers that are weaker than her old ones. Thanks. She hates it.]

Which begs the question of what we can do about such a creature.

If it’s on the ship we need to find it and determine how to remove it. If it’s not...we might need to get this ship up and running well enough to run.

It comes down to whatever we learn in their files and records.

My powers are combative in nature and my former line of work involved fighting large monsters on occasion. I can help with this.

That makes two of us. I wouldn’t consider it a fight yet. These people had weapons and ended up who knows where. It could be their own will to fight was turned against them.

Anyway that’s what intel I got from her.

When we are in less dire circumstances, perhaps we can exchange stories, then.

[It sounds like he's got a few interesting ones to share and she does want to get to know her fellow Circle members when there's some downtime. If she's going to be stuck with this group for the foreseeable future, she might as well try to get a sense of what they're like.]

In the meantime, perhaps the best thing to do would be to brainstorm a few ways to preserve our sanity.

First, I'd advise no one goes anywhere alone. Take someone with you at all times. Second, no one should approach those doors marked exit.

[That's two ways to maintain sanity. He wants to get that out there before he accepts any offers. Any chance to know the rest of the Circle isn't one he'll pass up.]

And sure, when we're out of this mess, I'll gladly exchange a few stories with you.

Reminding ourselves of things that bring us peace might also be a good idea. A place from home, a favourite song...the sorts of things that let someone hold onto their sense of self. If that makes any sense.

[It's something she did in the other world she'd been pulled to previously before being brought to the Circle. It worked for her well enough.]

That's good advice. [He gives praise where it is due. This is something anyone can take hold of. It might be their light in the darkest of hours.]

We do need to keep our guard up. But there's nothing wrong with taking a moment to find your peace so you can continue forward. It would also help to remind ourselves of what we've accomplished so far.

El Minha and Struxta. We did a lot of good in both worlds.

A benefit of staying in pairs or groups, yes? We can allow one another moments of peace while others remain vigilant.

[She can appreciate the value of teamwork.]

I was not here for either El Minha or Struxta, but knowing that the Circle was successful in saving two worlds thusfar is reassuring.

[A sign that there are competent people here, at least.]

Yes, El Minha is where Kathashun is from. He is their king. Struxta is a highly technological world where all organic life was replaced with synthetic.

They had to die to a plague. They were doing alright when we left.

What did the other worlds need saving from?

[She's curious as to what sorts of situations they've gotten through successfully.]

El Minha broke out into civil war. We chose to take a neutral stance and save those we could. We established the army of the former king imprisoned their king in a coup and rescued him.

Strutxa had a massive electrical storm...are you familiar with Jupiter? The planet.

I've heard of it, yes. Beyond that, I cannot say I know much about Jupiter. I knew of a guild that named a weapon after it, though.

Jupiter has a spot where it's constantly storming. From what we learned from the people of Struxta this storm had been raging for eons. It was headed right for the city. With the help of their technology, we ended the storm.

Because of the storm we had to take their power grid and the populace offline. When we rebooted them we discovered that the system they used where they all linked up...had been erasing who they were before they uploaded themselves.

So was it affecting their sanity in some way? I encountered an inorganic race once...but the Null were considerably less civil than the people of Struxta, based on your description.

I believe it was. They were forgetting what it was like to be organic. Our presence stirred those memories.

There was a faction that detached from the...greater consciousness and hid beneath the city in older tunnels. It's only once we interacted with them that the system saw us as a threat.

So the system, in essence, saw your presence as corrupting it.

[That's what she's getting from this, in any case.]

That's right. It saw all organic life and the presence of it as a weakness. Now, people have a chance to be individuals again. They'll never be organic again...but they can be themselves. Whatever that self is.

It would definitely be good to know who found what. I know my friend and I found some supplies that we're trying to ration.

[There's a pause.]

Are you holding up okay? Space does take some getting used to.

I'm... adjusting the best I can, I suppose. Going without food for a bit was tough, but I'd say getting trapped in my own head was the worst.

[ He does that anyway, he doesn't need the ship trying to make him think of everyone back home. ]

Anyway, I'll make a note of that. What type of supplies were there?

Yeah, I know that feeling. Sometimes a walk helps, at least for a change of scenery.

Some water and a few other things. I'll have to double check

I would suggest an in person meeting. Isolation is not good for people.

[And isolated is exactly what they are out here.]

That's perfectly fine. Although I wouldn't really say we're isolated as long as all of us are up here.

[ Not necessarily what she means, but it's more said just to calm himself. ]

We do all have one another, yes. But in person contact is a better way to reinforce that than a discussion over the network.

Well... yes, true.

Do you think the mess hall would work for that? As long as we're not all spread out too far.

[ He may be able to project his voice, but not that much. ]

Yes it would. It might be a good time to distribute food to everyone, too.

[If nothing else, it's a perfect place for everyone to eat.]

The general consensus seems to be that whatever is making that noise is alive, and is likely the reason the crew of this ship is gone. I believe some people have spoken to a girl named Violet, who appears to be a survivor.

I've personally visited the garden area, which is being worked on by people with a much stronger green thumb than I. I would reach out to Ilde, with questions on that.

So there... there is something lurking aboard this ship then.

[ That's a terrifying thought. Extremely terrifying, but he'll have time to be terrified away from any cameras or anyone else. ]

I never got a chance to check in with Violet, but it sounds like she might be on our side, so to speak. This is the first time I'm hearing about the garden though. Is it still possible you think for anything to grow there?

I would rather not have something lurking on the ship, but we have to work with what we've got. I'm not sure how much I trust the survivor, but I also am not in the habit of trusting much of anyone after Akvos.

[ it is what it is, so they say. ]

And I think growing anything will require some level of magical encouragement, but that's not really my level of expertise. It should work, though, if people with that level of ability work together to try it.

I found some bedding and a red one of those jumpsuits in one of the rooms I got into...oh, and some basic medical stuff. Someone else already mentioned the garden, so I guess I don't need to talk about that...

[The voice responding is rather airy and absent-minded, as if following a somewhat tenuous train of thought.]

Oh, and I checked a lot of the bedrooms and the most interesting thing I found there was Violet-san, but you all already know about her.
