[Keith spent a long time debating whether to bother with video for this or just go with text. But the truth is, for what he's aiming for, it's better to do this virtual-face to virtual-face. Or something. He's even done bothering with the frankly ridiculous mask. For now.

The video opens to a fairly normal looking teenager (aside from the fact that what's visible of him is definitely dressed in a skin-tight vaguely glowy futuristic space suit), hesitating a moment like he's still debating on how to begin.]

So. Uh.

[Good start, Keith. Solid.]

I guess all of us are stuck in the same boat whether we want to be or not. And apparently that boat is headed for some other world before we know it.

I'll be honest. I don't know if we can trust this Astoria as far as we can throw her. [And he knows she can hear this, but he's said as much to her face, so there's that.] But for now I guess I plan on going along to see how things play out. [Which after discussing with Shiro, he feels pretty okay about, as plans go.]

But... just waltzing into other worlds, and potentially meddling in them... that could go bad really quickly if someone makes an enemy of the wrong person. If that happens, it might not be a terrible idea to know what we've got on our side.

Not just magic either. Because... that's really new to me at least. But we all bring some experience or skills or knowledge or something to the table, right? If we're gonna be any sort of team, we may as well know our strengths. And what we might be lacking.

[Maybe? Keith is now wondering if it was a bad idea to give him a way to talk to so many people at once. But he's committed now, no help for it. So he'll even go first.]

I'm Keith. Uh... I guess I'm pretty good with a sword. Pretty good in anything that flies. And I'm mostly used to being in space, lately. But it does't sound like that'll be helpful in this El Minha place. Also apparently I can fly now. So... there's that.

Anyone else feel like sharing?

...Possibly. [He speaks slowly, feeling the word out and that neutral expression is back. He should talk to Keith about Shehui. But the shadow of it hangs over his head because it was barely a week ago by his own time clock. He needs time to mull it over. But it reminds him to loosen up just a hair.

If it had been Keith who had been captured then...it made him understand just a little how hard losing him must have been to Keith. He smiles tiredly, but there's that faith again in his eyes.]

I do keep a handle on myself, but that's because I have to. And because I know you're watching my back just like I watch yours. We'll make it through this. Somehow.

[There's something Shiro isn't talking about. Keith can tell, or at least thinks he can, thinks he knows Shiro well enough. Of course he has no idea what that could be, and for the moment at least he's not going to start pushing. He trusts Shiro enough to tell him when he's ready.

That tired smile on the older man's face draws an answering smile over Keith's face, small though it is.]

Of course we will. Whatever happens, we'll figure it out. You're right. I've got your back, Shiro. And you've got mine.

[And that's enough.]

I think we’ve covered just about anything I can think of. [He glances off to the side as he adds, quietly.]

For now. It hasn’t been more than a week since my time with the Coven. I’m still processing that. We’ll talk about it when I have my thoughts in order.

[He pauses and nods to himself.] Can you think of anything else I might have missed? Anything you would want to know or have covered.

For now.

[Keith agrees, and it's meaningful. He's giving Shiro space -- because part of him still worries that this Shiro doesn't know how badly Keith is going to let him down in a future he hasn't experienced yet. There's a bit of guilt in him for that. But eventually he'll have to press for the things that aren't getting said.

That can wait for now though.]

Not right now. It's a lot to process anyway... trying to get a handle on everything.

I would, yeah. Whatever you'd find out. I'd definitely want to hear it. And if I find out anything I'll share too. I think the more we work together and share information with everyone the better chance we'll have of figuring all this out.

[More information is better than less.]

I think you're probably right about that.

[She has to really, especially if she's grabbing people from the same world, right? Who know each other?]

Is there anyone else from your universe here?

Yeah, you're about a hundred fifty years before we get a man into space, and then someone on the moon. And we keep moving on from there.

[He cracks a smile and nods.]

Definitely faster than the mail, that's for sure. And it'll come in handy if we run into any snags when the witch drops us in new worlds.

[Keith will jump on the change of topic all too eagerly, though he does manage a brief sheepish wince, almost apology. Not Daylight's fault he reacted that strongly. It's just still an open wound on his psyche that he needs to deal with. That he left the Castle to deal with in the first place, but apparently is still working through.]

[It honestly is nice of him to say so. And Keith now has something to think about. But ugh thinking to be honest.]

But... yeah. Time will tell if she's what she says, and if she's someone we can trust.

Never had to replace the parts as far as I can tell. It's a little hard to explain. But they're something special.

[Something unique and made from materials that Keith isn't even sure they could find again.]

Well... human wars, not so much. Those are still mostly confined to Earth. The war against Zarkon and what's left of the Galra Empire, yeah. That's how that one works.

[Her next question has him hesitating.] Well. The coalition is growing all the time. But... there aren't that many Blades left. And Voltron is five Paladins.

That's better than my truck in every possible way.

Mmm. One person. Ann Takamaki.

Blonde hair, pigtails, looks like she could be a model because she is a model. That's her.

Take your time. We’re all right here with you. [He has been giving Keith space to process the difference in their timelines and to Circle life. ...but he has noticed Keith doing the same for him. He knows there’s far more to what Keith said then he lead then he didn’t.

Until Keith is ready to discuss it he won’t push. His smile grows, the tiredness vanishing in an instant.]

And in that time adjusting, we can keep practicing your flying. And riding, once that harness is rigged up. Shouldn’t take too long. I think I can even just set it down so everything slides into place when I shift.

[They're circling each other. Eventually one or the other will ask the questions. And Keith knows he needs to talk about... a lot.

But for now he's happy to go with that subject change, expression brightening.]

Good. I definitely want to practice. Flying. And riding. So you've got the harness figured out?

I don't think I've met her yet.

[Not a description he recognizes.] I've got one friend from home here too.

A friend of yours?

[ ...Well, at the very least, that gives her some more hope that one of her friends may still be around. She may have to ask Astoria about it later... ]

I'd just recommend for now just trying to fly with him around-- only because you don't want to run out of energy in the middle of the air. Especially if--

[ A pause... ]

Well, it's better to just not get hurt, you know?

I'm sure you'll meet her eventually.

[it's not like there are a lot of them here. and also, in response to that statement--]

Shiro-san, right?

[She's trying her best to pick things up based on context clues, and she's not too bad at it, but mainly what his oblique references are doing is causing her quiet alarm.]

So in this war, you and your friends serve as symbols as well as warriors to those opposing the Empire you fight against.

I think so. I might need something more elaborate for continued use...but for starting out straps and belts forming the harness should work.

[He briefly looks thoughtful. Then he nods. The subject change had settled both of them. He's worried about what the future holds.] Yeah.

We'll know once we test it.

I have the great fortune of knowing that I am completely human.

[ it's said in something of a teasing tone, but -- you know, the homunculi and the battle to save humanity and whatnot in amestris had taught him a lot of valuable lessons on what being "human" really means. flaws and all, roy knows what he is. both literally and figuratively. ]

We also don't have giant robot lions in Amestris, and alchemy isn't used to create giant robot lions, so I'm afraid my specific brand of science might not be entirely useful to your own pursuits.

There's nothing wrong with not being completely human!

[...wait. Sorry. That got defensive really quick and Keith breaks eye contact and moves to change subject quite happily.]

Maybe not. Different universes have all sorts of different... everything. I guess it's not surprising. Maybe. The science of it is sort of beyond me.

Then, let's test it.

[Shockingly, Keith is fully into trying this out whether or not the seatbelts work. There's his life, there's now he's got where he is.

Though in this case he's pretty confident he can catch himself with the flying trick so it's not really a risk.]

[A hundred and fifty years! It's such an amazing stretch that Elizabeth can honestly barely conceive of it. The wonder clearly shows in her expression. And even in her surprise, she still manages to be somewhat lighthearted about it.]

You shall make me very sad I could not see such delights myself, sir, save beyond this realm.

[ if roy is startled by the outburst, he doesn't show it. instead, he simply shrugs a little, to continue: ]

I'm a man of action, not words or titles. What you are is unimportant, in the grand scheme of things. It's what you choose to do with yourself that matters.

[ some of the homunculi understood that, maybe. most of them didn't. ]

I hadn't met many non-humans before being dragged along on these travels. Most of them seem to be perfectly upstanding people. My home could use some of them.

[ the humans, really, are the ones that truly messed up amestris. ]

I have everything ready. [He angles the watch so it can see the make shift harness of straps laid out as if to be put on.]

Same place as last time, just outside the temple walls.
