[Barabas appears on the video -- fully clothed, thank you -- with a sedate expression, cordial enough. Bright red hair is less styled than he'd prefer it (his kingdom for decent hair product, really) but he still looks sharp, put together. He's set his watch somewhere so that he's in fame, seated at a table, from about the chest up, hands folded in front of him.]

Hello. I've already met some of you, but for those of you I haven't had the pleasure of encountering yet, my name is Barabas. Everyone seems fairly alive, which is better than the alternative. There's a new vacation spot in town, complete with an off-brand Loch Ness Monster. What more could anyone ask for?

[He spreads his hands.]

As... charming... as this place is, there is a disturbing lack of information infrastructure. Even Astoria doesn't quite seem to be able to keep track of who is coming and going at all times -- since the last bunch of us were apparently unexpected guests. I don't exactly find that reassuring. It does not make me feel warm and fuzzy.

[At all.]

In that vein, I think we should address this, put in place some way to keep track of who is here, who is no longer here, the abilities we each possess. [He ticks these items off on his fingers.] And a collection of information of the places that Astoria has sent us, and the general outcome of each trip. And really any other useful things to know, for all of us, and those who may be brought here in the future.

[A smile now, no teeth, but still pleasant.] Sadly, I'm only one man, so I suppose what I'm looking for is twofold:

First, would anyone be willing to help gather and compile this data?

Second, those of you who've been here longer than I have, perhaps we can chat about your experiences.

Upright and functioning are definitely my usual goal.

[He offers with a faint twist of a smile before sighing.]

So is useful, but I'm still working out how to be that exactly, in this place.

They don't really make that easy on us, given the limited supplies and materials to choose from, but you learn to make due, eventually.

[She gives a small shrug.]

I'm used to not having a lot to work with.

Are you? That sounds like fairly handy experience then.

[Improvisation and getting by with what's available is a skill that humans in his world had to learn after the Shift as a society, but he's gotten used to having the resources of the Pack at his disposal.

Maybe that's made him a bit spoiled. He could learn something here.]

Once we settle ourselves in a bit more, it might not be a bad idea to catalog what supplies are at our disposal.

[Zari's been a supposed enemy of the state for years now. You work with what you can steal.]

Probably a good idea. We at least seem to manage to have enough food, which is ... good.

Yeah, definitely better than going hungry. Hopefully that trend continues. But we're probably also likely to need medical supplies. Clothing. Other basic necessities.

[All of which seem just a little less convenient than the food, so far.]

Yeah, and unfortunately we can't take much with us between worlds. I only got lucky with the tablet because it was on me when we got picked up.

Wow. That is... inconvenient. To say the least. Has anyone asked our patron about giving us some sort of five minute warning?

[To assemble whatever they may have nearby to assemble? Because they may well need certain things.]

Why would she give us any warning when we weren't even asked to be here in the first place?

[That response is mostly sarcasm. Mostly.]

You know, I've worked with an organization like this before. They at least asked first.
