Hey. So my name is Dr. Nathaniel Heywood, but most people just call me Nate. I'm a historian, not a medical doctor, so if that's something you need, I probably can't help you much there. But if you ever want some good trivia about different period's in Earth's history, I'm your man.

Anyway. That's not this is about. I have a question. So it seems like our powers from home don't work here, and we have cool new powers instead which you know, is cool and all, but say if some of your abilities back home had neutralized a disease you had struggled with most of your life back home -- would you find yourself suffering from it again here?

Just, you know, asking for a hemophiliac friend of mine.

Well, if you think that, then I know it's true. You're not one to bullshit about people. And any friend of yours is a friend of mine.

[She appreciates Nate trusting her gut when it comes to people, and she nods.]

He'll watch your back. And I know you'll watch his too.

You still need to be careful though. These world jumps can be pretty dangerous. People actually died on the last one, and they didn't have blood issues.

Died like...stayed dead died? [look it's an important distinction, he doesn't know what the rules are in these things yet.]

[She shakes her head.]

They came back but they were dead for ... a while.

[It was hard to tell how much time passed on the Hologrium but at least a couple days.]

[nate makes a small face at that.]

That's....well better then if they stayed dead but still not great.

We don't know the costs or limits of dying here either. In fact, some people came back having visions of this person we can't seem to find.

[Alcina. Someone Zari's been wanting to talk to for a while.]

Astoria claims she's dead.

So some people came back -- but this woman, she stayed dead, at least according to Astoria?

She's been dead since before we got here, I think.

[She shakes her head.]

All I know is I don't trust Astoria. She can never seem to have a straight conversation with us.

Well, I'll follow your lead. You don't tend to be wrong about this kinda stuff.

[She nods.]

At least for now, we haven't witnessed her directly hurting anyone, other than sending them to dangerous places.

Well, that's...something, at least.

[She nods.]

Just be careful, okay? I don't really know what happens when you die here, or what the rules are for coming back.

[And she really doesn't want to watch her best friend die, even if he's going to come back.]

I'll try not to take an unnecessary risks, okay?

[but he won't....promise because nate is kind of a reckless hero when it comes down to it. ]
