(video + action) it's time for SPIN-THE-ICEBREAKER
[What's shakin', fellow Circle members? Are y'all getting used to the temple? Raiding the kitchen? Checking out the forest? Venting some of that I've-been-kidnapped-by-an-interdimensional-witch-possibly-for-the-n'th-time steam in the sparring ring? Regardless, you are getting a brief video message:]
Hiii, everyone! I'm setting up a game in the big room next to the kitchen, so come play if you want!
[If you choose to investigate, you'll find that there's a collection of bottles, pencils, silverware, etc.-- anything Keiichi could get his hands on that's small, semi-pointed and that can theoretically spin-- laid out in the middle of the room. And, all around the room, there have been several questions written neatly in chalk on the stone walls. When Keiichi sees you, you'll get the spiel (or, if you're lucky enough that he's distracted, the "rules" are written higher up on one wall for anyone he missed).]
Oh! Hi! Did you want to play? It's an icebreaker game! You take one of the spinners-- I did the best I could, haha!-- and pair up with someone or get in a group, sit down and take turns spinning! Whatever question the spinner's pointing at, you answer! Or you could just all answer each question, it doesn't matter! The point is just to meet the other people we're going to be living with here and have fun! Oh! And, don't worry! I'm going to clean up all the chalk when everyone's done! Have fun, okay?!
Questions include:
1. Where are you from?
2. What's your power?
3. If you could've gotten any power, which one would you want?
4. What's something you're really good at?
5. If you could have a lifetime supply of anything, what would it be?
6. What's your best friend like?
7. What did you want to be when you grew up?
8. What's your favorite hobby?
9. What kind of world do you want to go to next?
10. If you could tell everyone in the world one thing at once, what would you say?
11. What's your favorite advice you've ever gotten?
12. Who do you look up to?
13. What's your weirdest skill?
14. What's your nickname? If you don't have one, make one up!
15. If you got turned into an animal, what would you want it to be?
16. What's your dream job?
17. What's your favorite memory?
18. If you could have anything as a pet, what would you want?
19. Make up two truths and a lie for your partner to try to guess the lie!
20. Partner's choice of question!
[So! What'll it be, Circle? Do you grump at the mass text? Walk right on through? Actually sit down and play an icebreaker game with all these perfect strangers? (Intend to walk on through and then get roped into playing by the host?!?) Sneakily add some extra, more interesting questions to the wall while Keiichi's not looking? Up to you! Play in groups, play in pairs, refuse to play at all, DO AS YOU WILL. ALSO here's a RNG if you wanna go that way instead of picking questions yourself.]

[ RION'S JUST GONNA CALL HIM OUT. ]
video;
[ HE'LL TAKE IT AS A COMPLIMENT, YOUNG LADY!!!! ]
But my current job is being an active duty officer in a relatively active military; I'm afraid retirement is the closest thing to a "dream job" as I'm going to get.
video;
[ pretty much a given. ]
video;
[ they're on their way to peace, in amestris and in ishval. it's a lot of hard work, but the payoff will be worth it, once roy navigates the quagmire of the fallout of king bradley. to him, this is almost like a vacation. ]
What about you? What do you want to be when you grow up?
[ -- okay, it's a little condescending, but you called him out on his age first ]
video;
Mm... I think I'd like to continue being an idol for as long as I can. Maybe teach singing lessons after that?
[ But she's fought for this for ten years, she's not about to consider stopping it anytime soon. ]
video;
I recognize that term. [ roy had the great joy of meeting like twelve love lives! in spellbind who taught him the ways of how important being an idol is, thanks. ] Do you happen to know the Kurosawa sisters?
[ maybe they're from the same world -- it's with a slight pang of guilt that he hasn't tracked down ruby or dia, but they -- hopefully -- went home, where they belong. ]
video;
Kurosawa... sorry, it doesn't ring a bell. But there are a ton of idol groups I haven't met yet, so who knows? Maybe I'll run into them at home one day.
video;
Hm. [ disappointing, but also a relief. perhaps they did make it home after all. ] Well -- at any rate, from what I've heard of idol-ing, it takes a lot of hard work and determination to succeed. It's an admirable goal to have.
video;
-- Ah, but that's kind of a trade secret, so... [ PRESSES ONE FINGER TO HER LIPS. ]
video;
[ except roy uses that same exact mantra all the time whenever he lies to the face of superior officers that he really loves being ordered around but rion doesn't need to know that. ]
So your secret is safe with me.
video;
video;
roy waves a hand dismissively. ]
I don't think so, but your confidence in my non-existent ability is admirable. [ ANYWAY ] Are you all honestly spinning a bottle around in order to figure out what question to answer next?
video;
Yep! Well... bottles, pencils, spoons, other spinny things... do you want to keep going? I don't mind playing with you!
video;
Ah, six, which would be . . . [ give him a moment to peer at the video-version of the board. ] What is your best friend like?
video;
You know, I don't know if I have a best friend... the closest person would probably be more like a rival?
What about you?
video;
You should find someone who balances out who you are, as a person, and completes the pieces of you that are missing. That's the mark of a good best friend, I think.
[ roy pauses. ]
I've had the good fortune to have had two. One passed away, some time ago. He reminded me not to take life so seriously. The other is here within the Circle. She reminds me not to get myself killed.
[ which is apparently a character flaw of roy's, who knew. ]
video;
Child or not, there's something sad and understanding in Rion's gaze when she speaks again. Not at the advice, no-- it's sound, and she'd happily follow it when it happens. But... ]
I'm glad you've got one of them with you. But I'm sorry. I... just lost a friend, too.
[ Not a best friend, but that hadn't made her seeing her die in Kou's arms any easier. ]
video;
I'm sorry for your loss. [ roy pauses. ] But they are always with you, in a way. He guides me without being here.
[ roy doesn't believe in an afterlife, but he does believe that his decisions have been made with maes in mind. and that's thanks to him. ]
Do you have anyone from your home, here?
video;
And then sigh, rather loudly. ]
Yeah, there's Kou Tokisaka. He's about my age and he talks like he's tired all the time and it took forever to get him to appreciate idols.
video;
And he's not your best friend?
[ she reminds him of winry. mostly in how exasperated she sounds about the teenage boys in her life. ]
video;
[ although she would also fight to the death for him, but you know. It's a protag thing. ]
video;
[ in a musing tone; maes drove him up an absolute wall. ]
But to each their own.
video;
[ where she can actually spin, so--!! #31, it looks like. ]
Coffee or tea? Mmngh... coffee's a little too bitter...
video;
[ mildly enough. ]
I drink coffee in the morning, but tea throughout the day, if I feel like it. Or tea at night.
[ honestly he just accepts whatever riza hands him without complaint but that doesn't really seem to answer the question. ]
video;
[ ... probably better than coffee at night. ]
