hey! i've been wondering something recently!

i spoke to a guy who's met aliens and fought them, and i realize that i havent had a chance to ask everybody! where do you all come from? what's your world like?

its probably kinda boring to ask at this point but i don't really know a lot of you and i bet you've all got really cool stories to tell!

also if anyones not busy, i wanna mess around with my magic some more

Well, I come from Earth, but I'm betting most people will say the same thing. That's the trouble with the multiverse— everything is just... normal for the people from that Earth.

But I'm from the United States. Do you have that in your world?

of course i do! that one's not that strange

i mean yeah earth is normal, but theres gotta be someones earth that ISNT normal! thats the point of the multiverse isnt it?

I don't know if it's the point but yeah, they're all pretty different. I've been to a few, besides this one. Different timelines, too.

I think hearing about other worlds is one of the most interesting parts of being here!
I come from a world called Gaia. What about you?
Also, magic? Is that the power Astoria gave you?

gaia! that even sounds really magical. what was it like?

yeah! i thought it was that i could just make things bigger and smaller, but i'm still learning more about what i can do! i wound up getting an apple to bounce for a while and it took me a while to get it to stop.

It depends on where you go! We don't think of a lot of the things that occur naturally in our world 'magic,' but there are some things I think do qualify.
There's a forest that has the power to turn people around if they enter it without something to dispel the ward. It forces them to lose their way or end up back in the town they came from, rather than being able to get through.

Even just changing the size of things could be really useful! Making things bounce, too. What other physical properties do you think you might try to change?

really?! how did you get there??? i always knew there was something like a parallel universe out there, i just couldnt find it!

oh, i'm from normal earth too. there's nothing special about it, i just went to high school and looked for kappas and santa. never found anything until recently!

Pretty much the same way we all ended up here. There are a lot of worlds out there, but it's hard to get to them unless someone decides they need you.

Did you expect Santa to be an undercover high school student?

At this point I guess anyone who's been here awhile has fought aliens. Technically, if you consider the people in other worlds aliens.

But anyway, what kind of magic did you end up with?

i havent yet, i havent even seen another world yet!

[ Which kinda sucks, but she can understand. Hopefully Astoria is getting enough rest. ]

i can change things! like the weight and size and stuff of random objects!

Seriously? Have you thought of any practical uses for that yet?

And you'll get your alien fighting time, don't worry. If that's something to even be excited for.

my world seems pretty normal? modern, we have cities and roads and cars and all of that, but we also have wild beasts that make travel a little dangerous sometimes.

what kind of magic did you get though?

wild beasts? you mean they come out onto the roads every so often? i guess thats kinda usual depending on where you live in the world though, you cant just box beasts in! theyre meant to roam free

transformative magic! at least i think thats what its called. i can make things change size and shape and weight so far, i could probably do more but i dont know what yet

sort of. i mean, you don't just walk up to a coeurl to pet it and they will hunt you down if you stay in their territory too long. but at nighttime we have bigger problems than the wildlife.

oh that sounds about right if you call it transformative. is it that you can affect anything? or just inorganic things... or is that something to test still?

My world's pretty normal aside from the people in it.

[And the little detail of immortals and demons existing. But a guy with shark teeth and a tattooed cannibal come to mind just as readily as anomalies.]

hmm, that's kinda normal itself though! i mean you're bound to have some weirdos around wherever you go

I mean, where should I even start? The tale of a dashing gunslinger, traversing the stars and fighting back the forces of evil? Or perhaps a sordid tale of forbidden romance? Sparrow racing? I've got a million stories.
