Do they make it back home or... something else? It doesn't seem to make much sense.

I have been told they go home, but as you said, there is no way to be sure.

We cannot contact Astoria while we are here, can we?

I don't know. I guess there's no harm in trying once we get back. Whenever that is.

It seems like most of the people here have heard people go home, though. And if Astoria is to be trusted, then our friends and family are safe in our absence.

You are not the only one, though, who has doubts. I am not sure if that is any comfort.

I do believe that she has good intentions, it just seems like she's left us in the dark on some things that really matter.

[ this person is better than inej, she thinks. she's suspicious of everything, and everyone, but trusting good intentions is a luxury she typically can't afford.

I've never spoken to her.

I don't know. I haven't either. The only time I've really seen her was after Akovs and she was acting... strange. It didn't seem like I could approach her.

She seemed out of her mind.

[ to put it bluntly. inej is usually a little more reserved, but it is frustrating, to be trapped in a situation like this with no guidance whatsoever. ]

The people in the Circle themselves, at least, seem to be reliable. We can at least count on each other, for the most part. That much is encouraging.

[He can't really defend her there, even if he still wants to believe she's good at heart.]

Everyone around here though is definitely reliable. We're so far from home, it's good to have people we can trust.

...My childhood friend. We arrived together before Akvos.

I hope, then, that they are home, and safe.
We have no reason to believe otherwise, as of now.
But I will keep them in my prayers regardless.
