Hey guys! I know we’re all busy right now with all the wild stuff you guys have managed to find out but wanted to get your opinion on something.

It’ll be real quick, I swear.

If I attempted to convince a citizen here to let me try out the Mass Subconscious thing out - Where does that land on the ‘good idea’ scale that ranges from one to ten?

I'm not going to stop you. Maybe this is the right angle and it's not like I can take the risk for us. My only advice is keep your priorities straight when you're doing this. I don't know any of you at all really but, I'm trusting you not to do something that'll get me or innocent people killed. Mostly that last group for the record.

None of us asked to be here to my knowledge so try not to give us up to a potential enemy, alright?

[ day can't help but bristle at that, anxiety and shock forcing a nasty jolt through his systems because those words are true. it could drag the others into trouble if something goes wrong and he immediately thinks of miss jing and akira and tyrion and all the others and that's the last thing he wants and— he’s not going to— the last thing he wants to do is—

[He is sighing in relief. Steve really has no way of knowing if this guy cares at all about them. It's not like he can judge him too harshly if that were the case considering he's not exactly comfortable with being kidnapped and ordered to fix other people's problems when his world's are left neglected. His heart isn't as committed to the mission at hand as it would normally be.

Thankfully that's not the case so he can ease up a little. It's still a risk, but he can't fault the guy for taking it when they are grasping at straws here.]

[ and whoof- loaded question there. daylight isn't sure if he can admit what he feels at this moment. it doesn't, um, feel right to unload all his anxieties and worries on someone else. especially on someone new like steve. no need to do that on first convo, you know?

super condensed version of his answer. it takes a minute or three for daylight to formulate an answer he's satisfied with before he starts to type it out: ] I'm doing okay. Much as a guy can be in this sort of situation we're in.

So yeah! Okay and kinda tense? Definitely tense. I want to do what I can do to help others. Along with preventing another situation like what happened at El Minha.

[He appreciates what he gets all the same especially since it leads him to something he doesn't know.] That's good to hear. I'm not the happiest guy these days, but I can't find anything wrong in helping these people or any other. It's the right thing to do no matter how we got here.

hrmg- that's a good question to ask. that's a really good question to ask. one that daylight still finds himself asking now and then when everything is quiet and he's unsure of what to do. ]

We were told that there was conflict between the royal family and this crime syndicate. We were told we had to help out with the situation and sent to the place.

It was our first ever time doing this so we were kinda all over the place. We were talking and looking and finding stuff but we weren't really working together-together, you know? Not at first. And that's fine! There's always going to be kinks and setbacks and mistakes at the first of everything. Especially something as big and important as the Circle's mission.

[ mistakes happen. mistakes will always happen. daylight simply wishes their mistakes hadn't dragged in an innocent along the way.

for a second, he stops trying, needing a moment to compose himself before he continues further: ] Someone died.

Her name was Eliana. She was four-years-old. I feel like we could have prevented it if we had been working together-together sooner, faster.

[His heart breaks for this little girl and her family. He can't even fathom the amount of children that have been tossed in his arms at that age or younger whether it be for innocent photos or the last desperate act of a war refugee. The thought of one of those fragile beings getting killed over some conflict leaves a bad taste in his mouth. It gives him more incentive to put his own anger aside over being here without his consent.]

I'm sorry. I want you to know regardless about how I feel about our recruitment, I'm in this 110% percent. We won't let something like that happen again. We're in this together no matter how that shakes out.

[ now realising that he's been holding his breath while waiting for a reply, daylight realises it in a great, heaving vent. it it from relief? it's definitely relief. ]

It's comforting to know that we're going to work in this mission together. It seems a lot of stuff is going to be all hands on deck.

That you're dragged into this, I guess? Along with everyone else who's new here.

[ how to explain himself here? hmm.... ] I'm kind of starting to realise now that not everyone is going to be, like, super into the idea of wanting to do these sort of things. Especially with what's at stake here. That's a lot for anyone to deal with when they're somewhere new and stuff.

So sorry that you're in this without getting a proper headsup? But definitely a thank you for being willing to give it 110% your all.

I appreciate that. Really. To be honest, I take more issue with not being asked than helping. This is literally my job back home. I save the world from threats with a specialized team. It's just nice to be asked first.

But, you know what? I can get over that if it means doing the right thing and getting to work with people like you.
