[ Right... The watch thing can function as a phone, is what Minato had been told, though it's been largely silence on his wrist and he hardly ever bothers with it. The lack of correspondence is normal and is fine with him, but it's times like this where he thinks it useful for reaching out to people, both who he's talked to and not. ]

Just wondering... Does anybody have a dog, or knows how to take care of dogs? Or know if it's okay for a dog to eat nothing but curry for a week...

[ The answer to his last question is obviously a "no," but it leads to the question he's implying but doesn't really want to admit. AKA he has no idea what to feed a dog, as he was the one in charge of taking his out for a walk but not of meals, and it's since dawned on him that a strict diet of curry isn't the best for either people or dogs.

For those who'd rather speak in person, Minato will most likely be found in his room, laying flat on his back on his bed, Koromaru flopped over on his stomach. Both of them seem listless— the usual, for Minato, but quite unusual for the dog who'd be the first to jump to his feet to greet you at the door. ]

What? No. I don't eat snakes. I have a pet snake. I prefer home cooked meals. Most of us do. We're human first and foremost.

It's more just politics. Clan Wolf is the largest clan by numbers. It gives them a certain... superiority complex. Clan Bouda, well, we've always been more the outsiders. Sometimes we clash. It's just a matter of who wields what power and for whose best interests. But we're all members of the pack.

If you're humans first and foremost, is it impossible to talk things out as humans...?

No, that's a stupid question. It's why we still have war.

That's what politics means -- generally we talk things out between clans. Oh, actual physical fighting happens, of course -- though those tend to be more one on one than the clans themselves. And there are challenges within the clan hierarchy that must be answered.

I feel like I'm in over my head already... Society for me was always just sort of pretending I'm not part of society. Keep to myself, don't make trouble, that sort of thing.

Oh, I don't. I'm a misfit among misfits. And yet somehow, I'm advisor to the Consort and the Pack's lead legal counsel. It's funny how things work out.

But... not much for being part of society yourself? Not fond of other people, or just solitary by nature?

If you're good at what you do, that's what matters. Doesn't matter if you're a misfit, I think.
Nature, I guess. Never lived in one place long enough to feel like I'm part of anything. It was always just me.

Uh. I guess I like society a little bit. It'd be nice if I could be part of it only a little, and only when I feel like it.

I imagine many people feel like that. But society tends to only function when one can't get out of the parts that aren't the most enjoyable. Everything has its cost.

Because I think that starts waning right around the age of potty-training, and keeps on dwindling until you're 18.

It's nothing to worry about, honestly. It was a misunderstanding, and I was as much at fault. Wandering into a random hyena is likely... unsettling, for most people. And dogs.

Yeah... I would've thought that's something you'd try in the privacy of your own room. Did you ever make any progress with the mongoose thing?

Why? I can't do much in my room. I certainly can't test how my other form is functioning in that small a space. No running or jumping. Besides, what I am is what I am. I see no reason to hide it away exclusively behind closed doors.

I know. But what if my dog had knifed you in the gut?

Wouldn't have happened.

And if it had, it wouldn't be the first stab wound I've survived. I'm not sure my healing is entirely in tact here, but I'm made of tough stuff.

It's still painful, even if you don't die... I'd still worry about you.
