[ Right... The watch thing can function as a phone, is what Minato had been told, though it's been largely silence on his wrist and he hardly ever bothers with it. The lack of correspondence is normal and is fine with him, but it's times like this where he thinks it useful for reaching out to people, both who he's talked to and not. ]

Just wondering... Does anybody have a dog, or knows how to take care of dogs? Or know if it's okay for a dog to eat nothing but curry for a week...

[ The answer to his last question is obviously a "no," but it leads to the question he's implying but doesn't really want to admit. AKA he has no idea what to feed a dog, as he was the one in charge of taking his out for a walk but not of meals, and it's since dawned on him that a strict diet of curry isn't the best for either people or dogs.


For those who'd rather speak in person, Minato will most likely be found in his room, laying flat on his back on his bed, Koromaru flopped over on his stomach. Both of them seem listless— the usual, for Minato, but quite unusual for the dog who'd be the first to jump to his feet to greet you at the door. ]

About as much as stuff like this ever does. What if there's another way to maintain the seal? Maybe we could even ask Astoria.

[Because bringing people here to fight for her with only that waiting for them in return is all kinds of messed up.]

You're gonna be saving a lot of worlds by helping her, after all. So maybe it's less like cheating the universe and more like earning a second chance.

[ Hoe many worlds does he have to save in order to earn back a soul...? It just doesn't feel right to quantify it like that, or even think about what he's supposed to do with a second chance at life. Something too good to be true, dwelling on it seems like setting himself up for disappointment. ]

Maybe.
But even if she can't, I don't mind helping her indefinitely, as long as I'm capable of it. All the time I'm going to be here is just a bonus on top of my lifetime, and thinking of it like that... I'm lucky to be brought here. To do what I can. And when everything is settled and people can go home, I can finally rest. Dying isn't a terrible thing. Not always.

It's not so great for the people who get left behind.

[He knows he's projecting and being unfair, but good people dying for the greater good is right at the top of the list of things he's currently sick of.]

Just think about it, okay? I want to help and I'm sure the others would too. We're all supposed to be a team now.

I know. And I'm sorry.
It's nice thinking of us all as a team, though. I've never been part of such a large one.

Me neither. Or at least not with so many of us being in the same place. I'd like to think it means we'll be able to accomplish a lot.

[Like you know, not dying.]

Hmm... Team members scattered around the world, like a MMO?

[hatamon]

You got it! Same deal for you or lucky guess?

[p_mortem]

Lucky guess. The online game I played was just about to close, so there wasn't very many people still online... And the player I talked to there ended up being somebody I knew anyways. What game did you play?

[hatamon]

Oh, I didn't play any games. But there are people on my real team who live all over the world, even if I've never met a lot of them face to face.

[p_mortem]

With everybody having laptops and smart phones nowadays, I guess that's not too hard to imagine. But if not games, then... work? That sort of team?

[hatamon]

Not exactly. It's a team like we are here. People who were chosen to protect another world.

[p_mortem]

A world-saving veteran, huh? We're real lucky to have you here.

[ Imagine... saving the world and not having to die for it in the process. Wild. ]

Any tips you can give?

I get the feeling you'd already know them.

[In the Digital World you can pretty much just will yourself back from death if you want it badly enough!!!]

You're not going to say something like "You just need to be you" or "All you got to do is believe in yourself" are you?

Don't forget the really dramatic speech about having faith in your friends and sticking together.

ww You're right, I already know about all that.
Wouldn't mind hearing the speech, though. It's always good to have a reminder like that.

That one's not my specialty, but if my brother shows up I'll send him your way.

A pro wouldn't have messed up as many times as I did.
Meeting your brother would be cool... I'd like to hear it in your words though, if you ever feel up to it.

That's not true. It's not like there's a rulebook to saving the world. You've gotta mess up along the way to learn.

Maybe one day if the timing's right.

Not when messing up involves people dying.

Alright.

That's the catch, isn't it? It's not like a movie. In real life even learning has consequences. For what it's worth I'm sure you did the best you could.

Yeah... Thanks. There are times that I regret, but I won't dwell on them. Little good comes out of that.
